Life After Zwei:
We left Zwei in July 1985 and moved to Andrews AFB, MD. After only a year and a half, dad got orders back to Germany, so I decided to head back and enjoy the culture. After a little over a year and a half I got bored living with parents, so I joined the Air Force. Here is where I have been during this time:
1987-1988 ~ Basic Training & Keesler AFB, MS for training.
1988-1989 ~ 33rd Comm Sq. March AFB, Ca (outside of Riverside)
1989-1993 ~ Det 1 4 ASOG, Bad Kreuznach Army Installation,
Germany
1993-1998 ~ Tinker AFB, OK
1998-2000 ~ 39th Comm Sq. Incirlik AB, Turkey
2000-2002 ~ 366th Comm Sq. Mountain Home AFB, ID
2002-2005 ~ HQ Air Force Communication Agency Scott AFB, IL (Hammer ACE). We provide Secure Satellite and Radio Communications, FAX, Iridium Satellite Phones, non-secure and secure internet and more for Nuclear mishaps & exercises, homeland security missions and exercises and to the investigation boards for military aircraft mishaps.
2005-1 Sep 2007 ~ The mission moved to Langley AFB,
Virginia and I was the first to arrive on July 29th.
I left and set up shop this summer for it's arrival. Hammer ACE is one of the best job...Expand for more

In 1991, while stationed in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, I got married to a German young-lady I met at a local disco. Her name is Carmen. Carmen and I had our first son together while stationed in Turkey. We had him at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany on April 28, 2000. (Incirlik AB in Turkey had no child-birth facilities on base). His name is Michael Lawrence Blackburn and is a super-smart kid. We love and spoil him a lot!!!
Carmen was a bartender and will be able to land work anywhere we will be living from now on. Langley was my last assignment.
. I retired September 1st and moved here to Tampa, Florida. I accepted a job at L-3/GSI as a Defense Contractor as an Electronics Technician for IP Configuration. I work with SATCOM Terminals, IP Comm equipment, routers, switches, etc. I am loving it here and the new job
My hobbies are fishing, softball, racquetball, football, hiking, camping and boating. I will take fishing here in FL. I go all the time!!!
Carmen now works for a new Embassy Suites here in Tampa in the Banquets and Beverages department doing multiple jobs. She works more than 80 hours a week and they love her.
